Dr. Hammer is happily married to her college sweetheart, Eric Hammer. The couple has
built a loving home in South Fork, Colorado, where they raise their two children.
As a family, they enjoy outdoor activities and exploring the natural beauty of their
surroundings.
She is passionate about community engagement and participates in various initiatives
that promote entrepreneurship and education, believing strongly in the transformative
power of words and the importance of fostering a love of self-sufficiency and innovation.
After completing her MBA, Emily began her professional career in the corporate world,
working for AT&T Mobility and Dillard's Inc. However, her passion for education and
helping others led her back to Texas Tech University, where she took a position in
Student Services.
While working at Texas Tech University, Emily continued her academic journey and earned
her Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction. This achievement opened new doors for her in
the field of higher education. Following her doctoral studies, she joined West Texas
A&M University in Canyon, Texas, where she worked for nine years, contributing to
various academic programs and supporting student success.
Currently, Emily loves working with students at Trinidad State College, where she
is dedicated to fostering an engaging learning environment for her students.
